Dr. Hammed Abodunrin was born in IRESI, Boluwaduro Local Government of Osun State. He attended Baptist Grammar School, Iresi and Osogbo Grammar School, Osogbo where he obtained his West African School Certificates both at ordinary and advanced levels in 1985 and 1987 respectively. He obtained a BSc. in Geography and planning from the University of Lagos in 1991; MSc.  in Humanitarian and Refugees Studies in 2009; MA Peace and Conflict Studies in 2011 and Ph.D. in Peace and Security Studies in 2021, all from the University of Ibadan respectively.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as a volunteer in 1994 and presently a Commandant by RANK. He attended various courses both home and abroad including Basic Orientation Course, Junior and Senior Management Courses, Internal Security short courses at Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji (Ayske Biu), Weapon Handling Courses at Prisons Training College, Kaduna, Humanitarian Assistance and Train the Trainers Courses at Kofi Annan International Peace-keeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Accra, Ghana, Peacebuilding course at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand where He is a Peace Fellow. He is also a Fellow of Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies (FICSS), a Fellow Institute of Coorporate Executive of Nigeria (FISEN) and a Fellow of the National Defence College Nigeria (fdc)

In his service, He has held various appointments. This includes Heads of Public Relations, Training, Intelligence and Investigations, Research and Training, Operations, Administration Peace and Conflict Resolutions and Disaster Management in various State Commands including; Osun, Kwara, Oyo, Plateau and Corps’ NHQ. He was subsequently deployed first to Ogun and later Ondo State Command as the Substantive State Commandant. He bagged the Awards of the best State Commandant for three (3) consecutive times and got the Commandant General’s Plaque for Excellence in March, 2022. He has authored different Books on Security, Child protection and Media operation among others. He is happily married with Children and loves adventures.
