Simple Process

Get Your School on the National Database in Minutes

Four straightforward steps — no technical knowledge required. An authorised school representative completes the form, including the designated registrar or contact person who will verify their email and access the portal for that school.

The Process

Four Steps to Registration

  1. 1

    Fill the Registration Form

    5 min

Visit the registration page and enter your school's details and the designated registrar or contact person (school focal person) who will receive the verification message and manage the school profile in the portal. You will need:

Registrar / contact: full name, email & phone
    School name & full address
    State, LGA & ward
Ownership (government / community / private)
School level (nursery / primary / secondary / tertiary)
School phone & optional school email
    Security checklist details
  2. 2

    Confirm Consent & Submit

    1 min

Before submitting, read the Data Collection Notice and tick the consent checkbox to confirm:

    • The information you provided is accurate and complete.
    • You consent to NSCDC storing and using the data for security coordination.
    • The data will be handled per the NSCDC Privacy Policy.

Use a working email for the registrar. That address is used for portal access and, when a new focal-person account is created, NSS-ICIS sends a message with a secure link to set the password. Also keep the school phone number and your registration token — you need them to print the acknowledgement slip.

  3. 3

Verify Email & Set Your Password

    Email

The registrar or contact person you named is attached to the school record as the school focal person. If their email is new to NSS-ICIS, they receive a message with a secure link to choose a password. They can then sign in and keep the school's profile up to date. If that email already has an account, no duplicate setup email is sent — they sign in with their existing password.

  4. 4

    Print Your Acknowledgement Slip

    Anytime

After a successful submission, you will see a confirmation screen with your registration token. At any time afterwards, visit the Print Slip page and enter your:

    Phone Number
The school phone number used at registration
    Registration Token
    Shown on your confirmation screen
    Print Your Acknowledgement Slip

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, registration on NSS-ICIS is completely free for all schools in Nigeria. There are no charges whatsoever.
Any nursery, primary, secondary, or tertiary institution in Nigeria can be registered. The person filling the form should be an authorised representative of the school — such as the head teacher, principal, bursar, or school registrar. They must also provide details for the designated registrar or contact person who will be the school focal person in the portal.
When registration creates a new user account for the focal person's email, NSS-ICIS sends a message to that address with a secure link to set a password (the same style of link used for password reset). After choosing a password, they can sign in and manage the school profile linked to the registration. If that email already belongs to an existing user, they sign in with their current password instead.
Contact your nearest NSCDC state command or the national helpline. Provide your school name and the phone number used during registration to have your token retrieved by an authorised NSCDC officer.
Yes. The school focal person (the designated registrar or contact person) can sign in to the portal and update much of the school profile themselves. NSCDC staff and administrators can also update records where policy requires. For changes you cannot make in the portal, contact your state command.
Registration is instant. Once you submit the form, your school's record is immediately created in the database and your registration token is displayed. You can print your acknowledgement slip straight away.
Yes. All data is stored on secure, access-controlled servers operated by the NSCDC. Data is handled in accordance with applicable Nigerian laws and the NSCDC Privacy Policy. Only authorised personnel can view or edit your school record.
The acknowledgement slip is an official NSCDC document confirming your school's registration in the national database. It may be required during NSCDC school security inspections or accreditation exercises.
Yes. Each school must be registered individually using a separate submission. Each registration will produce its own unique token and acknowledgement slip.
The SVI is a calculated risk score assigned to each registered school based on weighted security variables — including perimeter security, surveillance coverage, guard deployment, alarm systems, and proximity to security formations. The score helps the NSCDC prioritise resources and identify schools that need urgent security attention.
Security formations are NSCDC operational units (divisions, area commands, and state commands) assigned to cover specific schools and regions. The system maps formations to schools, calculates the nearest available unit, and tracks response readiness levels to ensure rapid deployment when needed.
