On January 28, 2025, the Commander of the National Security and Safety Response Corps (NSSRCC), ACC Rabiu l, Muhammed (PhD) Esq. paid a courtesy visit to the FCT Commandant, CC Dr. Olusola Odumosu. He was accompanied by the Principal Staff Officer, ACC Dr. Ifeoma Annest Chukwu, along with other officers and men of the corps. The meeting commenced at approximately 1100 hours, with CC Dr. Olusola Odumosu presiding over the session after a formal introduction.

During the meeting, the Centre Commander NSSRCC outlined the purpose of the visit, which included discussions on operational assistance, the functionality of the Command and Control response room across different divisions, and effective school registration on the website to enhance security and respond to distress alerts as part of their mission.

The FCT Commandant expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the Centre Commander NSSRCC ACC Rabiu l, Muhammed (PhD) Esq. for his efforts upon assumption. He emphasized his full support for the Safe School Project, highlighting it as a priority to ensure the safety of schools and the surrounding community. He also tasked the commander and other officers to develop ideas for advancing the centre and to work collaboratively. Dr. Ifeoma Annest Chukwu suggested that the FCT Commandant could assist in reaching out to the divisions and communities with the target audience, leveraging manpower support to enhance the Safe School Project. In response, the FCT Commandant commented to her response and emphasized the need for proper training, orientation, and assignment designation for desk officers before any deployment.

Additionally, ACC SA Idoko encouraged the involvement of CBRN and CTU in training personnel, emphasizing it’s critical importance to safe schools project. The meeting concluded with a photo session and farewell greetings.
